This project involves the transformation of a 1950s dwelling in Newry, rejuvenating a dated detached house into a contemporary family residence. The addition of a green roof extension serves as the focal point, housing an expansive open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area complete with a practical utility room.
Newry House Extension
Newry, County Down
Positioned to maximize natural light, the south-facing extension incorporates roof lights and expansive glazed doors that seamlessly connect the indoor space with the outdoor garden area. The design features standing seam zinc on link walls and a first-floor dormer, juxtaposed with long-format Roman bed brick, creating a striking contrast from the existing imperial red brick structure while infusing the extension with a fresh, modern aesthetic.
