Newforge Sports Complex

McGurk Architects were responsible for the master planning, and design of the various stadia and pitches, for the redevelopment of the Sports campus at Newforge Lane, Malone Road, Belfast.

The soccer/ rugby stadium constructed as part of phase one works has a FIFA two-star 4G synthetic playing surface. The stadium building includes a cantilevered seated terrace, control rooms and public amenities on a rendered base.

Phase two works included two MUGA’s and a synthetic hockey playing area to FIH standards.

Phase three includes a 3200m2 indoor arena, changing rooms, café, offices, reception, a conference area and associated amenities. It is clad at ground level in three different shades of green fibre cement rainscreen and at first floor level in hardwood timber.
