Milesian Manor Care Home

McGurk Architects scheme for the Milesian Manor Care Home provided an additional 90 en-suited rooms, fully compliant with ROIA guidelines. The phased development quadrupled the original square footage of the home with accommodation formed around two landscaped courtyard spaces.

The design masks the scale of this large building’s footprint on a restricted site, housing the second-floor accommodation in a mansard roof construction. Lead clad box dormers give the composition rhythm and scale, whilst projecting brickwork bays add interest to the frontage.
