Belfast Back Care & Physiotherapy Centre

This project involved the retrofit, alteration and extension of a derelict commercial premises. The new clinic accommodates eight treatment rooms, two pilates studios, a rehabilitation suite and a new reception space, as well as providing necessary amenities, staff rooms and administrative spaces throughout the building.

The new modern extension rises behind the existing stone boundary wall; a fresh contrast to the traditional styling of the existing building. The extension’s striking cantilever is finished with a textured oxide red block at first floor level creating an entrance canopy over the unified singular main entrance. This allows patients to enter into a bright, naturally lit reception area enclosed by a small walled garden.
