Glen Road, Belfast, County Antrim
This alteration and extension of an existing social club building will provide a new heritage centre for the Roddy McCorley Society. The project brief includes a unique museum, exhibition space, restaurant and unified reception for the complex along with associated parking, site works and landscaping. The design’s modern extension contrasts with the existing building structure, visible externally at first floor level and stripped back internally. The new build element features a dramatic cantilevered structure, with lightwells introducing natural light into the entrance concourse. A graphic elevated facade draws the life of Roddy McCorley for its inspiration. The project started on site March 2021 and is scheduled for completion early 2022.
